Cooling & Heat Recovery

Problem:
Many clients and potential clients have heard that they can use a Ground Source Heatpump in a reverse mode to cool a building in hot weather.

This is often possible with many heatpumps and is usually achieved by using the underfloor heating circuits to cool the floors.

We would question whether this is a very effective method of achieving cooling. I.e. is a cool floor really the best answer?

Solution:
We prefer to advocate a Heat Recovery heatpump.
This is a specific type of airsource heatpump designed to extract air from the warm areas of a building and use it to heat Domestic Hot Water.
